Livingston Dentist Michael Chusid, D.M.D Changes the Lives of Thousands of New Jersey Patients through Sedation Dentistry

Livingston, New Jersey (PRWEB) October 11, 2012

Dr. Michael Chusid, of Chusid Dental Group in Livingston, New Jersey recently announced the launch of his new website designed to enhance patient care and educate area patients. Dr. Chusid’s primary goal with the new website is to educate patients about sedation dentistry.

“Over 30 million Americans have dental anxiety and are afraid of going to the dentist. Many patients put off going to the dentist until they are in pain that requires prompt attention,” said Dr. Chusid. He stresses that it’s important for people to have annual x-rays and exams, unfortunately phobic patients can put the dentist off for years. “I’ve been a dentist for over 30 years, and sadly, I’ve seen patients who haven’t been to the dentist in almost that same amount of time. These patients usually wait until they have some type of dental pain before calling our office, “ says Dr. Chusid. His new website is intended to educate patients living in New Jersey on how sedation dentistry can help them overcome their fears and obtain an happy healthy smile.

Dentists have been providing sedation to their patients for years. This usually is in the form of nitrous oxide sedation, commonly known as laughing gas, or oral conscious sedation, a small pill patients can take to relax. However, these forms of sedation sometimes aren’t enough for most phobic patients. For these patients, doctors offer IV Sedation. This is typically administered by an anesthesiologist or by certified registered nurse anesthesiologist (CRNA). I.V. sedation will make patients extremely relaxed and comfortable, but they will remain conscious. With I.V. sedation, dentist can treat years of neglected dental work, and many patients never even remember their appointment. Sedation is used to perform everything from a simple filling to a complex smile make-over. Sedation allows dentist to perform more dental work in a single setting.

A patient of Dr. Chusid comments-“I never went to the dentist because I was scared of the sounds that drills made, but I knew I would one day have to go. Then the day came when I had an ache in my jaw and finally my husband had me call his dentist in Livingston N.J., Dr. Michael Chusid. I had about 3 hours of work done and when it was complete, I was so relieved. I remember going in and coming out of my appointment, but nothing else!” Dr. Chusid comments-“ Dental fears or anxiety should never stand in the way of having a healthy mouth. My overall goal is to help those living in my backyard get the smile they deserve. Hopefully our new website will educate patients and get them to stop holding off on dental care, ” says Dr. Chusid.
