UPDATE (10:40 a.m.): 

Police have identified the man struck and killed by a car on West Saginaw Sunday night as 55-year old Cruz Archer of Delta Township.

Eaton County sheriff's deputies say they've found the car that hit and killed Cruz, but no charges have been filed, and the investigation continues.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. on W. Saginaw Hwy. near Canal Rd. in front of Denny's Restaurant.

The 1999 Buick Regal that hit the man drove off.

Lansing Township police found the car later on Monday morning. Police have interviewed the owner.

 ORIGINAL STORY (5:06am) A man is dead after Eaton County Sheriff Officials say he was hit by a car.

Deputies say it happened around 11:30 Sunday night on West Saginaw Highway between Canal Road and Delta Commerce Drive in Delta Township.

Sheriff officials believe the man was trying to cross the street when he was hit by a car.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.
