The FDA warns two more products from a compounding center in Massachusetts could be linked to Meningitis.
In total 214 cases across 15 states have been identified, which has resulted in 15 deaths.
All of the cases are linked to tainted steroid injections from the same place and now the FDA says there could be more.
Those 214 cases of Meningitis so far have been linked to one steroid Methlyprednisolone acetate.
The FDA announced Monday a patient who had received a back injection with a different steroid
Triamcinolone, another product from the New England Compound Center may have meningitis as well.
In addition, the agency noted that two transplant patients have an infection associated with meningitis that were given another solution from that company during surgery.
Even though those cases have not officially been confirmed as meningitis
Dr. William Shaffner from Vanderbilt says it's another cause for concern.
"This story has not yet ended, it may have not even has peaked, we're all concerned about that and surely we need to do something going forward that nothing like this happens again," Dr. Shaffner said.
The New England Compound Center has recalled all of its products, everything from treating infections to cancer.
The FDA is asking doctors to call patients who have had any injections of products from the company after May 21st.
The center says they are reviewing the statement and will cooperate with the investigation.
