Meridian Twp. To Vote on Land Preservation Ordinance

Posted:

Archery deer season started two weeks ago but dozens of hunters in Meridian Township haven't been allowed to bag any bucks.

To help control the deer population, Meridian Township came up with a Deer Management Program.

The only problem is, 31 of the 49 hunters were assigned to hunt on Land Preservation Property, which is illegal.

Tonight, the Township plans to put an amendment up for a final vote to allow hunting on that property.

If it passes, the rest of the hunters can climb into their stands starting Saturday October 20th.
