Posted:

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan State University football fans are getting the chance to ride the rails in style from Chicago for the team's game next month against Northwestern.

Organizers say the first "Spartan Line" travel event is aimed at Michigan State alumni from Chicago returning to East Lansing for the November 17 game at Spartan Stadium. An Amtrak train car wrapped in Michigan State's green and white colors will leave Chicago on November 16 and make a return trip November 19.

Participants who purchase a "Spartan Line" ticket will get train travel, a game ticket and a pass for a tour of the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum.

Michigan State University and others are involved in the effort. The school has a big alumni presence in the Chicago area.
