One of two men charged in a horrific murder in Green Oak Township has been sentenced to life in prison Friday.
Brian Jeffrey Stafford cried Thursday as he apologized to his victim's family.
He was sentenced to life in prison for second-degree murder after he pleaded guilty to aiding co-defendant George Tanner in the October 2011 murder, mutilation and burning of 40-year-old Christopher London Townsend who was beaten with a wrench and strangled with a seat belt.
His remains were burned in a wooded area on Silver Lake Road in Green Oak Township.
