MSU to Host World Dwarf Games in 2013

Posted:

More than 500 athletes from around the world will gather in East Lansing for the 2013 World Dwarf Games.

Much like the Olympics, they happen every four years and in August 2013, Michigan State University will host them. The games include competitions for little people in several sports including volleyball, basketball and soccer.

"Ordinary people would say no, you cant do that because you are a dwarf. I think that is rubbish. I think you can go on, you can do that and you can achieve if you are given the opportunity," said Arthur Dean, the organizer of the games.

The World Dwarf Games started nearly 30 years ago at Michigan State University.
