Man Arrested After Allegedly Scamming Sick, Elderly Woman


Police have arrested a man who they say is allegedly connected to scamming a sick, elderly woman.

James Arthur Lowe of Muir was arrested Tuesday after an investigation of a fraud complaint put upon a 72-year-old Lowell woman. The woman's checking account was accessed and compromised while she was battling a serious illness.

Lowe is being held on larceny from a building stemming from Lowell, four counts of uttering and publishing and felon in possession of a firearm. He's being held at the Ionia County Jail pending his arraignment scheduled for Thursday morning.
