Suspect Arrested In Highway Shooting Case

A 43-year-old Wixom man has been arrested in connection with a series of shootings that took place along the I-96 corridor.

Police picked up the man at his home on Monday night. They also searched the house and came away with what they describe as potential evidence.

They also say he drove a car that matched the description provided by one of the shooting victims.

Police believe he took shots at some 24 cars over the past few weeks in Oakland, Livingston, Ingham, Shiawassee Counties. Only one person was injured in the shootings. No one was killed.

Investigators say they were turned on to the suspect from information they gathered over the past few days.

They say they won't release any more information about the suspect until prosecutors in the four counties as well as the U.S. Attorney's office have a chance to review the case.

A source tells 6 News anchor Sheri Jones that he'll likely face federal charges.
