Lansing Man Arrested After Craigslist Deal Goes Wrong

A Lansing man is in jail for using the Internet to track down, beat and rob another man.

On Monday evening, Ingham County Sergeants say the two men met on the Internet site Craigslist, and agreed to meet and exchange a Play Station gaming system.

But when the buyer took the system home, Police say it didn't work.

When nothing could be resolved over the phone, Officials say the suspect took the law into his own hands by going back on Craigslist and pretending to buy another item from the same man.

The victim agreed to meet his potential buyer at the McDonalds on Jolly and Okemos Roads.

That's where Police say the suspect and several others pulled up in a van behind him, said they had a gun, then beat and robbed the victim.

A witness gave Police a license plate number and they tracked the suspect down at his home in Lansing.

They arrested him a short time later.
