HealthTell Inc. was announced as the “Innovator of the Year, Start-Up Company” at the gala awards ceremony held last week by the Arizona Technology Council. The annual event highlights how innovations in science and technology create a stronger and more robust economy for Arizona’s future.

Chandler, Arizona (PRWEB) November 14, 2012

“This award is a great recognition of the years of research and development that have gone into making this technology real. The potential here is to dramatically change the way chronic diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s, and arthritis are diagnosed and treated,” said Dr. Bill Colston, CEO of HealthTell, Inc.

HealthTell is developing a test that measures the “temperature” of an individual’s immune system from a single drop of blood. The technology was developed at Arizona State University by Dr. Stephen A. Johnston and Dr. Neal Woodbury and licensed through the Arizona Technology Enterprises (AzTE). Similar to how a fever can be used to register the presence of an infection, this system provides a very early indication that there has been a significant change in the health profile of an individual.

"Our annual awards ceremony celebrates the exceptional companies and individuals leading the way in accelerating Arizona's innovation and global competitiveness. Congratulation to the winners that represent the best and the brightest the state has to offer”, said Steven G. Zylstra, President and CEO of the Arizona Technology Council.
