Lansing Police say a drunk man took them on a wild ride when he refused to pull over and ended up crashing his car, but the chase didn't stop there.
The pursuit started around 11:30p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Mt. Hope and Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard in Lansing.
Officials tried to pull over 25-year-old Justin Jefferson Taylor from Lansing following a few traffic violations, including almost crashing into several cars.
The driver didn't stop and took-off North on MLK until police say he hit a cement embankment when he attempted to turn onto Hillsdale Street. That's when authorities say the driver got out, and took off running. He was taken into custody in the 900 block of W. Lenawee.
The man had his license suspended and was arraigned in court for the following charges:
No other vehicles were involved and alcohol was a factor.
- Count 1: Police Officer – Fleeing – Third Degree – Vehicle code (felony)
- Count 2: Operating – License Suspended, Revoked, Denied (misdemeanor)
- Count 3: Operating while Intoxicated (misdemeanor)
Bond was set at $7,500.00. Taylor is due back in court again Monday, November 26.
