Jackson County Skyline Gets A Make-Over

The Jackson County skyline will soon be changing. Starting Friday, crews will start work on tearing down the Old Riverwalk Plaza Hotel.

The high-rise hotel won't be coming down in just one day. Because the of the nearby Grand River and a parking garage underneath the hotel that's still in use, de-construction crews will essentially have to tear it down wall-by-wall.

A county commissioner says the work will likely take a few months.

The commission has been saving whatever money the county had left-over each year and recently came up with enough money to tear it down.
