Theft in Jackson Leads to Power Outages

Police were called to the corner of Woodland and Eggleston Streets where they say a stolen Southern Michigan Heating and Air Conditioning van crashed into a electric pole. The crash happened at about 8:30 Thursday night.

They say that the business had been broken into. Several items were stolen, and some items were found in the van that was abandoned at the scene. Police are still searching for the driver.

Consumers Energy is trying to restore power to the 130 plus homes and businesses that are without it tonight. They say it should be on by 8 this morning.
