Heavy Traffic Expected Downtown From Silver Bells Parade

To make room for the Silver Bells in the City Parade and the thousands of people expected, the city will re-route traffic in some areas downtown.

Some roads are already shut down and others will be closed Friday afternoon. Those affected include Capitol and South Washington, as well as cross streets including Allegan Street,  and Michigan and Ottawa Avenues.

Officials warn if you don't have to drive in the heart of downtown Friday, it's best that you don't.

The streets will open after the celebration at about 11:30p.m.
