UPDATE: Jackson County Homicide Victim ID'd As 63-Year-Old Woman

JACKSON, Mich (WLNS) – The body found Saturday morning at a Jackson County boat launch has been identified as a 63-year-old woman from Addison in Lenawee County, officials say. They are calling her death a homicide.

She was found about 13 miles south of Jackson at the Adams Road boat launch on Crispell Lake by several outdoorsmen.

Officials with the Jackson County Sheriff and with MSP have been working together on this investigation, and have collected evidence from two separate locations.

Jackson County Sheriff Steve Rand said in a statement released Sunday afternoon that he believes the boat launch was used as a "location of opportunity because of its remote location."

Officials say they have made contact with the woman's family, and plan to release her name in the coming days.
