Posted: Updated:

A man is dead after an early morning shooting in Jackson.

Jackson Police say they received several calls about gunshots around 10:30p.m. Saturday. Two hours later, they responded to a duplex on the 1100 block of First Street. That's where they found 42-year-old Christopher Taylor, who had been shot in the chest after his girlfriend discovered his body.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy later confirmed it was from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police at this time have no suspects, but believe several people were involved. They're encouraging anyone who has information to contact the Jackson Poilce Department tip line at 517-787-0212.

It was the second homicide in the county over the weekend. A hunter found the body of a 63-year-old woman in Liberty Township on Saturday morning.
