A Jackson County man is under arrest and facing open murder charges after sheriff's deputies accused him of a weekend murder.
Deputies picked up Steven Storm, a 42-year-old man from the Vandercook Lake, on Wednesday night.
He faces charges of open murder-homicide for the death of 63-year-old Sandra Johnson. Hunters found her body at the boat launch near Jackson County's Crispell Lake on November 17th. But detectives believe she was killed at her home in nearby Lenawee County.
Investigators say they got their break in the case on Wednesday, when they got a hold of Johnson's bank records. Based on those records, detectives from both counties interviewed Storm - who they had already considered a "person of interest" in the case.
Following the questions, deputies arrested Storm and took him to the Lenawee County Jail. He'll face a hearing before a magistrate sometime on Thursday.
"We are pleased to provide the family of Sandra Johnson some closure," said Jackson County Sheriff Steve Rand and Lenawee County Sheriff Jack Welsh said in a press release. "Our condolences go out to them."
