Suspect Formally Charged With Murder Of 63-Year-Old Woman

Prosecutors have formally charged a man with the murder of a 63-year-old woman.

Investigators picked up Steven Storm, a 42-year-old man from the Vandercook Lake, on Wednesday night.

He appeared by via a video link in a Lenawee County Courtroom on Friday morning.

He faces one county of open murder for the death of 63-year-old Sandra Johnson.

Hunters found her body at the boat launch near Jackson County's Crispell Lake on November 17th. But detectives believe she was killed at her home in nearby Lenawee County.

It's not clear if or how Storm knew Johnson, but detectives say they cracked the case when they got a hold of Johnson's bank records on Wednesday.

Storm will get a court-appointed attorney. He's scheduled to be in court on December 3rd for a preliminary hearing.
