Van Explodes, Officers Investigate Possible Meth Lab

A close call for a deputy putting his own life on the line to make sure no one was inside this burning mini-van. Dash cam video shows Calhoun County Deputy Tim Howell blown back by an explosion Friday night. Amazingly, he wasn't hurt.

The Newton Township Fire Chief says the two people inside the van when it caught fire got out okay. A man suffered some minor burns on his hands.

Officers say the couple's story as to why the van caught fire just isn't adding up. They're now investigating to see if it was a possible meth lab.
