Man Found Guilty in Summer Murder of Ricky Upshaw

A 29-year-old Jackson man has just been found guilty of first degree murder.

The jury convicted 29-year-old Roger Stein of shooting 22-year-old Ricky Upshaw in the back.

Witnesses said it happened after an argument and they saw Stein shoot Upshaw, then flee the scene in June.

Upshaw's friends who were in the courtroom say they're celebrating. Judge Susan Beebe even had to quiet the crowd after the verdict was read.

A judge will sentence Stein in January. He currently faces life behind bars.
