Jackson Judge to Sentence Former Fugitive Ricky Wheeldon

He's facing decades behind bars and Thursday, former fugitive Ricky Wheeldon will hear how long he'll be locked up.

This morning a judge will sentence the 53-year old on 9 felony charges; Including racketeering.

Wheeldon was on trial for those charges back in May but took-off on the last day and disappeared for 5 months.

During his absence a jury found him guilty.

In October, State Police found and arrested him in Leslie Township; Troopers say he was carrying a fully loaded revolver and drugs.

Since that arrest, Wheeldon was charged with felony firearms and absconding bond.

If found guilty, Wheeldon could spend 30 to 40 years in prison, not including charges in Ingham County.
