Cops Search For Suspect Who Broke Into Girl's Room

Lansing Police are on the hunt for a suspect who broke into a home and into a bedroom of a teenage girl.

It happened at around 5:30 a.m. along the 900 block of Seymour Avenue. That's on the city's near north side.

Police say the man crawled through an unlocked window and into the girl's room.

She woke up and saw the man. He took off and the girl went to tell her parents.

The girl was not physically injured, but went to a local hospital to get checked out.

Police used dogs to try and track the suspect down, but that didn't work. Investigators say they are checking out evidence left at the scene.

They describe the suspect as a Hispanic man, around 18-years-old. He was heavy-set and wearing a black baseball cap with a red logo. The bill of the hat was black on top and red on the bottom.

If you have any information that may help track the suspect down, call Lansing Police or Crime Stoppers at 517-483-STOP.
