Security Guard Performs CPR, Saves Student

School officials are praising staff members for their quick response after a student collapsed at Holt High School on Tuesday morning.

The senior attended gym class in the morning, then he and a friend had wrapped up lunch and headed outside.

The student said his legs were hurting, and moments later he collapsed near the pool entrance of the high school.

He was unresponsive, so his friend raced to get a security guard.

That security guard performed CPR and just may have saved this young man's life.

The paramedics arrived and transported the student to Sparrow Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

The boy's name has not been released.

As for the friend that was with him, school officials say he's been offered counseling after dealing with such a traumatic situation.
