People trying to trick you into giving-out your "personal information" seems to happen more and more these days.
It was just back in April Case Credit Union sent out a warning to the Mid-Michigan area and months later scammers are at it again.
Earlier this year, a similiar text message was sent to thousands of people claiming to be from a number of different banks, including Case. This time around, not as many people were reached, but it's a reminder of a reality consumers continue to face.
People received the message, whether they have a card or not. It asked them to call a 517 number to fix the problem. When we called, we got an attempt by scammers to gain personal information from you.
Case says they are working to trace where this is coming from and put a stop to it. In the meantime, they want to remind everyone to stay aware and stay educated. They say no legitmate finianical instiution will send an e-mail or text asking for confidential information.
Case officials do want to re-assure people that its security systems have not been breached.
