East Lansing to Get Makeover for Once Toxic Playground

Patriarche Park in East Lansing has received a $3,000 grant that will help make the park eco-friendly.

The grant came from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust.

The Mid-Michigan park had a wooden playground with a preservative containing arsenic.

Their fundraising goal is about 75 percent complete thanks to the grant along with other donations and pledges.

The Makeover is expected to be done within the next two years.
