Newly Elected Eaton County Commissioner Sworn Into Office

State Representative Theresa Abed took the oath for office in Eaton County, where she'll serve as a commissioner Wednesday.

Abed was elected back in November and will officially take office on the first of the year.

She was sworn in among family, friends and community members. State Representative Joan Bauer and Eaton County District Judge Julie Reinke, were special guest speakers and spoke of Abed's history of service and advocacy for the people of Eaton County.

"I will be a strong advocate for our families, our children and our communities," Abed said. "I will work with my colleagues to pass laws that support middle-class families and workers, properly fund our schools so our children receive a world-class education and protect our senior citizens."
