43-year-old Raulie Casteel of Wixom has been arraigned in a Livingston County courtroom on terrorism charges Thursday afternoon.
Casteel's court appearance was brief, lasting only around two minutes via a video link. He has entered a not guilty plea on all charges.
Casteel is the main suspect in a series of shootings spanning four mid-Michigan counties. He is currently facing seven felony charges, including terrorism, connected to 21 of the shootings, now dismissing previous charges out of Livingston County. He also faces 60 other charges in Oakland County.
A court ordered criminal responsibility and competancy exam was ordered. Those results aren't expected back until after the first year and will determine what happens next.
Investigators believe that in October, he shot at cars traveling on roads near interstate 96 in Ingham, Livingston, Shiawassee and Oakland Counties.
If convicted, Casteel faces up to life behind bars.
