Governor Rick Snyder signed a list of bills again Friday, including an online privacy protection.
The new bill will prohibit employers and schools from asking for passwords or other account information. It covers access to emails, plus social media networks like Facebook and Twitter.
Additionally, it will also penalize schools for failing to admit a student for not giving the information.
"Potential employees and students should be judged on their skills and abilities, not private online activity," said Snyder in a release.
This decision comes along side 20 other bills signed.
