Lawmakers Reach an Agreement on Milk Prices

They may be struggling to strike a deal on the fiscal cliff, but lawmakers in Washington did reach an agreement on a deal to head off rising milk prices.

The price hike was expected to kick in next month.

Leaders from both parties agreed to a one year extension of the 2008 farm bill.

Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack says Americans could have seen milk prices hit $7 a gallo if the current bill expired.

Senator Debbie Stabenow expects the House to vote on the bill soon.
