How to Get Rid of Your Christmas Tree


From now through the end of next week, the city of Lansing says people can throw out their real trees with their trash and recycling.

Remove all ornaments and tree stands first. If the tree is longer than six feet, it must be cut in half.


However, because of New Year's Day, trash and recycling pick up will be delayed by two days.
