Drunk Driver Causes Head-On Collision

Two people are recovering from serious injuries after police say a drunk driver went the wrong way down the highway.

It happened at around 3:15a.m. Tusday along U.S.-23 in Green Oak Township--that's in Livingston County.

Police say a 25-year-old woman was driving south in the northbound lanes near Lee Road. She then ran head-on into a car driven by a 25-year-old man. The woman, who wasn't wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle. The man had to be pried from the wreckage of his car.

Both are at the University of Michigan Hospital with what police call "significant injuries."
