Police ID First Homicide Victim Of 2013


Lansing Police have identified the murder victim as Nicholas Nathan Jones, a 29-year-old man from Lansing.

Four others were injured in the shooting, but are expected to survive.

It happened at a northside party store Tuesday. Police say the fight broke out at the Save On Market near the intersection of Willow and Knollwood just after 2 a.m.

Lansing Police tell us the surveillance camera across the street from the Save On Market was recording during the New Year's Day shooting and they are using the footage as evidence.

The case is being turned over to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office. Police are asking people with any information to call Detective Sergeant David Ellis at (517) 483-6842, or Crime Stoppers at (517) 483-STOP (7867).
