Lansing City Council To Vote on President, Vice President

The Lansing City Council is expected to meet Thursday afternoon to vote on who will be President and Vice President in 2013, but there's early indication it could be a bumpy meeting.

Last year, Kathie Dunbar decided to withdraw her nomination for President and support Brian Jeffries. In return, it was understood that she would have his support for president this year, as well as support from fellow council member Derrick Quinney.

However, according to our media partners at the City Pulse, Jeffries and Quinney may not hold-up their end of the bargain.

In December, the pair told the newspaper they weren't ready to "back her."

There has also been criticism about Dunbar's attendance record at council and committee meetings.

She has been Vice President for the past three years.

The council is expected to put to vote this afternoon, during their regular 2:30 meeting at City Hall.
