Ending the Budget Year on Top

Michigan may finish the current budget year with $1.2 billion in the bank. The bad news, according to the Senate Fiscal Agency, it may be needed to balance the next budget.

Their report is one of three that will be used next week when state officials work out a revenue forecast.

Analysts say Michigan's main funds will bring in $372 million less than originally projected.

They warn school spending may have to be cut by $150 per pupil next year.
