Sex Offender Check-In

Over the next two weeks, sex offenders of Michigan are required to check-in with state police.

All offenders must update their contact information, and if not done by January 15th, will have to be apprehended by police.

In 2012, about 40,000 people were on the sex offender list in Michigan, which is up nearly 500 people from 2011.

However, both 2011 and 2012 numbers were down from the more than 46,000 offenders in 2010.
