Following a recent article about a better way to speed through airport security, Surf Patch released a statement.
Bohemia, N.Y. (PRWEB) January 04, 2013
On January 4, 2013, travel company, Surf Patch, released a statement following a New York Times article by Susan Stellin, regarding a quest for faster and smarter way to flyclear through airport security.
According to the New York Times article, “The Transportation Security Administration has expanded its PreCheck trusted traveler program to 35 airports, allowing members who have been deemed low risk to keep shoes, jackets and belts on.”
The article states that TSA administrator, John S. Pistole, informed that his priority in the new year is to move more toward the risk-based screening approach, stating that a majority of travelers are not a potential threat.
According to Pistole, “When the agency was set up, it was focused almost exclusively on the security mission and not as much on the passenger experience. It became an adversarial relationship, so what we’re trying to do through all these initiatives is change that paradigm and make this a partnership.”
The article states that the TSA is under pressure to change its security strategy, as their operations have been under fire by the travel industry and government officials.
Surf Patch knows how it important it is to be able to flyclear of airport security as quickly and safely as possible, and commends the TSA for their efforts.
“The PreCheck program is a step in the right direction for the TSA, and further work towards programs like this one could help improve traffic through airports immensely,” said world traveler Takara Licausi.
