Local Housing Market Up for 2012

According to the Ingham County Register of Deeds, 2012 proved to be a good year for the countys housing market.

The number of foreclosures dropped and home sales saw a boost, hopefully all a sign of whats to come in 2013.

Records show home sales were up 16 percent from 2011. At the same time foreclosures, dropped 26 percent over the last two years. There was also a 19 percent improvement in the number of sheriff's deeds reported.

The register of deeds also says their continued fight against foreclosure fraud this year helped keep many residents in their home.
