While many 13-year-old girls might spend their time hanging out at the mall or texting on their cell phones, a Lansing teen has her sights on the 2016 summer Olympic games.
When Ashley Koval started at age 11, practice was just once or twice. But now, she's at the Demmer Shooting Center in Lansing five days a week, perfecting her craft.
Last month, she made it onto the Junior Dream Team, one step closer to her dreams.
She'll spend the next three or four years training with Kisik Lee, USA's Head Archery Coach as part of the Olympic training center.
"When they tell me what they want to do, when they tell me they want to go to the Olympics, that's when we know we've got a winner," said Glen Bennett, her coach from the start. "She'll come out and say, 'I'm going to win the tournament today and she just goes out and does it.'
"She has a great mental attitude towards shooting and that's probably 98 percent," he says.
Ashley starts her first training camp January 13th through the 19th.
