Gaining Awareness for Autism

Gymnasts from around the globe came together in Michigan not only for a tough competition, but to raise awareness for autism.

There were 1,700 gymnasts that turned out at the Twistars Gymnastics Club in Diamondale over the weekend.

The proceeds from the event will go to Movement Matters International.

This organization promotes activities like gymnastics to help children with autism improve their motor skills.

On average, the event raises as much as $5,000 for autism research according to the owner of Twistars.
