$2.5 Million Grant Brings Jobs to Mid-Michigan

Posted:

A $2.5 million grant will help bring new jobs to mid-Michigan.

A Lansing-based company called MBI will share the grant with another company. Together, they'll help convert left over leaves and stalks from cornfields into sugars, turning those sugars into biofuels.

MBI is already building a small reactor in Lansing to process the material.

A spokesperson says it won't create jobs right away, but it sets the scene for many new jobs in the future.
