GM Representatives Excited Over ATS Announcement

DETROIT, Mich. (WLNS) - All eyes on the Cadillac ATS after it was named the North American Car of the Year. It's roots run deep in Lansing.

For so many here in the Capital City, it's more than just a car. It's a sense of pride.

"It was the best. You anticipate. You want to win, but when they open up the envelope and say Cadillac ATS, it all comes together and its all worth it," said Mike Green with the UAW Local 652. "What it's brough to us so far. It brought a second shift. That's a lot of new jobs and how its now car of the year. This is our baby."

"The whole team was really wishing and hoping this would come true and it has. I was just talking to the folks back at the plant. Can't wait to celebrate the victory back there," said Antonio Francavilla, GM's Lansing Plant Manager.

It's a recognition that will only mean bigger and better things in the future.

"Got to help sales. Hey, you want to buy the car of the year, right?" said Green.
