Hamilton to Stand Trial for Murder

33-year-old Michael Hamilton was in court Tuesday on multiple felony charges, including open murder.

In September, officials say that Hamilton shot and killed Robert Marcyan outside of his father's lake house in Norvell Township. He then took the victim's car and led the police chase.

Hamilton's defense attorney asked the judge for an independent mental health examine
because according to testimony, an apparently nice kid pulled the trigger for no reason. But the court previously found Hamilton competent to stand trial. Judge Goostrey found enough evidence to try him for open and attempted murder.

If convicted, he could spend life behind bars.
