19 People Arrested in Lansing on Drug Charges

Lansing Police, along with Federal Alcohol Tabacco and Firearm Agents, issued 19 arrest warrants Thursday, 10 federal and 9 state indictments.

It was part of a two year investigation into a group that the Lansing Police Chief says was responsible for numerous drug and weapons crimes.

The exact charges remain unclear, but Chief Szymanski says some are pending. She believes the 19 are not believed to be linked to Lansing's 12 homicides in 2012, adding gettting these criminals off the street will be key to making the capital city a safer city.

"I believe that these 19 individuals are responsible for a majority of the violent crimes that have occurred in our city for the last two years, a big win very pleased," said Cheif Szymanski.
