
For the last two years, the governor has gotten pretty much what he wanted because he had all the GOP votes he needed to get the job done. This year will be more challenging as he will need some Democratic votes to pass his road repair package, including a car registration fee hike and giving local governments the right to raise money for their own projects.
But Democrats and unions are still upset with the governor over the treatment they got on the Right to Work legislation and they're not exactly in a mood for bipartisan cooperation.
The governor admits there are leftover hard feelings. He also knows there are many House republicans who will not join him in passing the tax hikes for roads.
