Officer Leaves Gun in Elementary School Bathroom

A scare at a Lapeer Charter School where a security officer hired to protect students left his gun in the bathroom.

School officials admit the officer breached protocol, but say the gun was not loaded and never came in contact with any children.

The school is for kindergarten through eighth grade students.

The prosecutor says no charges are expected.
