Fire Strikes Lansing Home

It was a battle of fire and ice.

Lansing firefighters are on the scene of a house fire near the intersection of Pine and Madison streets.

They're battling the blaze while temperatures are below 10 degrees. Another factor making it difficult to put out was the amount of stuff inside of the home. They say they're original plan of attack was to go inside, but because of everything inside, the fire began spreading faster and they were forced to battle it from the outside.

Officials say it sparked around 9a.m. on Tuesday. They believe no one was inside.

Neighbors say they haven't seen anyone living in the house for several years.

A crane is being brought in and will be bulldozing the entire house shortly because of everything inside.
