Former Church Pastor Accused of Murder Will Go To Trial

The ex-convict accused of killing his girlfriend's daughter in Mount Pleasant has waived his right to a preliminary exam and will head to trial.

Former church pastor John White confessed to killing 24-year-old Rebekah Gay back in October as part of a sexual fantasy

White faces first degree murder charges for her death.

Police say he strangled Gay, then dumped her naked body in the woods.

White has a criminal record dating back more than three decades. In 1981, he was charged with assault with intent to murder in Calhoun County and served two years behind bars. In 1995, he was charged with murdering a 26-year old in Kalamazoo County and pleaded guilty to manslaughter. He was released in February of 2007.
