TMSG: Fueling Up Good News

When the weather gets single digit cold, never let your tank feel the freeze for too long.

"One other thing we need to keep an eye on is how much fuel you have in the tank. Keep it filled above a quarter," said Sunshine Marathon owner Andrew Barrone.

Sounds simple enough, but for many mid-Michigan travellers on the go right now, thinking there's enough gas in the tank can often lead to running out of gas in the tank.

"The colder weather can lead to condensation in the tank which can lead to trouble starting," says Barrone.

Thankfully, Barrone has been getting people out of that trouble. The owner of two Marathon stations in Lansing and DeWitt, he's gone out of his way to help gassed out drivers get gassed up and avoid being stuck in the cold.

"In this cold weather, we're all trying to do the little things. And as a local owner, I can help do a nice thing."
