Water Floods Sparrow Hospital

A broken water pipe flooded upper floors of Sparrow Hospital Sunday afternoon.

It all started shortly after 1:30, when a sprinkler system pipe on the 4th floor broke.  Lansing fire crews say a significant amount of water leaked down to lower levels, affecting the 3rd and 2nd floors.

Crews say they were alerted of the break when fire alarms went off throughout the hospital.  The only affected areas were office spaces and not patient areas.  LFD used tarps to help keep damage to a minimum.

No one was injured and no patients were affected in the incident.  Be sure to stay with 6 News for any new information.
